We all remember last year's Chicago Bears-Detroit Lions Monday Night Football duel at Ford Field in 2011 -- the Lions won 24-13 and moved to 5-0 for the first time since 1956.
There is never any love lost between the two NFC-North foes, evidenced by a couple minor altercations last year between Lions quarterback Matthrew Stafford and Bears defensive back DJ Moore. The Bears embarrassed the Lions in Week 10, tuning them up, 37-13.
If history has taught us anything, it's that we can expect another hard-nosed battle of wills Monday at Solider Field in Chicago.
Bears quarterback Jay Cutler told ESPN's John Gruden that he expects a defensive tug-of-war.
Sounds about right, doesn't it?
"We know how our defense plays," Cutler said. "Our defense plays with an attitude. They're aggressive to the ball. They're going to hit you. Their defense is much the same. They fly to the ball. They're going to take their shots. They're going to hit you. Some of it's legal. Some of it isn't. It's up to the officials. They're a tough group. They play with a swagger. They play with attitude."
And be on the lookout for more Cutlerisms.
