Two days until the Detroit Lions (6-2) meet the Chicago Bears (5-3) at Soldier Field in Chicago.
As I was surveying the Web for interesting stories, I found a few that tickled my fancy; figured they'd do the same for you.
We'll start with beat writers, then move on to Blue and Silver Pride's mumblings.
From our friend Anwar Richardson over at MLive
Stafford wearing gloves in practice
The Lions quarterback has never done so. Why is he now? Read the dang article and find out. Apparently he's preparing for the outdoor elements, but last time I checked, it's going to be nearly 60 degrees Sunday in Chicago. Love that Stafford kid.
Lions sign a new punter (thank goodness); Jason Fox on IR (indifferent)
I'm not saying Ryan Donahue isn't a good punter, but he's not a good punter. Anwar gives us the scoop on the new kid on the block (hangin' tough), Robert Malone. Now, don't get too giddy, this move is likely to compensate for the time Donahue will miss with a strained quad.
From The Roo, MLive's Phil Zaroo, or as I like to call him, the guy from the Killer Tree
Blue and Silver Pride's two cents (time to pay up)
Richardson asks us for our Lions predictions. I like the Lions' chances, coming off a bye-week helps. I'm going Lions 28, Bears 20.
What worries me is Bears running back Matt Forte, who is the only player in the NFL with at least 800 rushing yards and 400 receiving yards. He's a dangerous, mult-talented player that could cause the Lions fits. I could go on and about the linebackers' duties of watching Forte, but we all know about that.
Shut down the guy who has a KIA named after him and get the job done. Case closed. But that Cutler-Bennett connection might be worthy of paying attention to as well.
And don't hate us for the video. I threw the NKOTB reference out there, so I had to deliver the goods.
