Lions fans are looking for good news these days.

A 2-4 start surely hasn't afforded many gracious tidbits of information -- and neither will this post.

Detroit has started slow, faltering along the way with blown drives and rookie-like mistakes. But keep in mind that the Lions are dealing with several injuries, which they'll continue to deal with Sunday against the visiting Seattle Seahawks.

Take a deep breath. Let it out slowly. Now, brace yourself for more bad news -- you know, the news you're used to; the news you've come to expect.

Calvin Johnson (knee)

Johnson wasn't spotted wearing a knee brace earlier this week, according to Lions writer Anwar Richardson. However, Megatron didn't practice Friday.

Is he hurt? Probably not. It makes sense to shelve Johnson so that he's well-rested come Sunday. Monday night's loss to the Chicago Bears knocked around a lot of guys. Johnson wasn't immune to the punishment.

Here it goes.

Other injuries (according to Richardson)

Lions safety Louis Delmas (knee), linebacker DeAndre Levy (hamstring), safety Amari Spievey (concussion) and cornerback Jacob Lacey (concussion) were not participating in practice. Delmas' absence is likely a precautionary measure, but the other players are in jeopardy of missing Sunday's game.

Detroit defensive end Cliff Avril (back) missed two days of practice this week, but was back on Friday.
