You're not a real football fan if you don't at least respect Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, one of the best to ever wear an NFL uniform. You don't have to like him or be his fan, but you have to respect the man's body of work.

End. Of. Story.

He is, without a doubt, the epitome of a linebacker who plays the game with class and fury.

So, in sportsmanlike fashion, Lewis complimented Lions receiver Calvin Johnson on Friday after the Ravens' 27-12 loss to the Lions.

Johnson hauled in five passes en route to amassing a touchdown (18-yarder) and 111 yards.

“Listen now. You’re talking about a person who probably should be running track, but he chose football,” Lewis said of Johnson. “He is a mismatch problem for a lot of people. The bottom line is you’ve just got to play him and make him earn his check. Today, he earned his money.”

Yes, Mr. Lewis, you are correct. Johnson earned his money Friday night and should run track. While it's just the preseason, Johnson showed his stuff against the Ravens, who had the third-ranked defense in the NFL a year ago.
