Reggie Bush to join Detroit Lions? Nate Burleson hopes so
The Detroit Lions are in need of an explosive playmaker, and if Nate Burleson gets his wish, Reggie Bush will hightail it to MoTown.
"I'm going to just say this, 'Reggie Bush, you already took your talents to South Beach, come to Detroit,'" Burleson said during a recent radio interview (via The Detroit Free Press). "I know it's not as sunny, and it might not be the same type of glitz and glamor, but you can do wonders for us."
Bush is a pending free agent and spent time with the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins since leaving USC as a highly-touted and celebrated Heisman Trophy-winning star running back in 2005.
Bush's Heisman was yanked due to violations, but that doesn't negate his level of talent. He's fast, that's a well known fact. But he's also an adequate pass-catching threat out of the backfield.
Since joining the NFL in 2006, Bush has caught between 34 and 88 passes each season; he could also give Detroit's special teams a lift by way of his punt returning abilities.
